Paula Lechman-Testa was born and raised in St. Louis, moving to Southern California in the mid-Eighties. Her design career began here in West Hollywood with the prestigious design firm of Sheridan Zimmerman MacGillivray, as assistant to the President, Merle Sheridan. There she honed her design skills while working on various projects within the firm including the William Morris Agency, CAA, as well as many other high-end West-side residential projects. She was also an allied member of ASID Los Angeles chapter at that time. Paula attended the University of Missouri at Columbia, and graduated with a B.S. in Home Economics-Interior Design major, in the mid-Seventies. She worked as an Interior Designer in St. Louis, Missouri for several years before relocating to Los Angeles where she married her husband Phil Testa. After working for Sheridan Zimmerman MacGillivray for five years, Paula started her own firm, LECHMAN-TESTA & ASSOCIATES in 1989, while also starting her family with daughter Taylor in 1989 and son Blake in 1992. The business was moved to Pasadena at that time and has remained there, allowing Paula to be close to her family while keeping her growing design business prospering. In recent years, Paula's successful business has allowed her to participate in the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts starting with the 2005 Showcase House in San Marino, and the 2006 Showcase House, also in San Marino. She was also invited to participate in the Los Angeles Magazine's Green House Design Project, published in the November 2005 issue. LECHMAN-TESTA & ASSOCIATES is presently specializing in new home construction, several remodeling projects involving kitchens and baths, high end residential, and several executive offices. Her business continues to grow and prosper. In addition LECHMAN-TESTA & ASSOCIATES has an extensive network of subcontractors who specialize in high end custom paint and plastering finishes, lighting and media room design, window treatment, unique floor materials, custom office and cabinetry designs, as well as kitchen and bath designs with a creative use of space and technology. |
